What is Trend Set?
Trend set was created to ready our clients for each season’s fashion. Making them aware of what is happening in the industry and keep them looking at their best at all times. Absolut Hair prides itself as being ‘cutting edge’ with regards to trends and exclusivity. Keeping exclusivity in mind, we decided to not only incorporate hair, but to give our clients the opportunity to boast a complete new look for each seasonal change. From this, our biannual Trend Set event was born.
We wanted to inform our clients about all aspects of fashion with the summer and winter trends. This includes their hair, make-up, clothing and accessories.
To this end we invited small groups of core clients, friends and colleagues to attend our ‘workshops’. They were briefed by Steven head stylist and owner, on hair trends for the forthcoming season including cutting, styling and colour. Following this the women were then split into smaller groups for individual, one-on-one attention and given a full Absolut 6-step consultation, which includes face shapes and skin tones which influence the cut and colouring of the hair. Whilst the first group of women were having their hair consultation, the rest were given tips and advice on make-up trends and application.
There were also consultants from fashion and accessories available to assist the women in their choices for their new summer wardrobe.
A professional photographer was on hand to take pictures of the day, as well as of each woman as she transformed with hair and make-up and provided with a photo of herself after the makeover.
Hair Trends
Fringes are huge for the upcoming season. Long hair has gone from very straight to a much softer feel, even tousled in some cases. The ‘bob’ is back especially angled bobs. Short hair is also hot at the moment, including the pixie look. Basically the general look for the season is a combination of dramatic and soft.
Colour is used in conjunction to compliment each style….the use of block colouring and meches are huge.
Colours are rich with muted tomes for a much more natural look over all, then using the block and meche highlights to create excitement and movement.
The make-up for the event was supplied by Trucco, which is exclusive to selected Sebastian Hair Salons only. The trend for summer is subtle. This includes natural colours and well defined eyes are ‘in’ for the season. To add sparkle and warmth to the look use bronze and gold colours. For the more dramatic, evening look use eyeliner and smokey well blended eye shadows, including browns, charcoal and black. Mel says “eye liner is great, but always use it with caution – charcoal can look softer and fresher than black. Less is always better, so keep colours to a minimum.
